The editor Kate provides further possibilities. It is based on the same editor component as KWrite, but can open and handle multiple files simultaneously.

A useful feature is syntax highlighting. Both KWrite and Kate offer this feature. It formats program code to make it more readable. This can be activated in ‘Extras’+‘syntax highlighting’.
