Together with Tony Finch, I run the central mail systems (Hermes and PPSW) for the University Computing Service in Cambridge. We don't work for Unix support, we just share an office with them.

Tony and I are responsible for system administration and development, not user support. Enquiries about Cambridge mail systems should normally go to the Computing Service Help Desk or the relevant college or departmental computer officer. Information that the Computing Service publishes which might be useful for end users is gathered here and here.

Significant recent projects include:

• Customisations to the Cyrus IMAP server, which we plan to use on the next generation of Hermes.
• An IMAP and POP Proxy server.
• The Prayer Webmail system.

Older projects include:

• Index files for Unix format mail folders.
• Managed mail domains.
• A mailing list system.
